Confident Care: First Aid Skills for Families

Emergencies don't wait — but being prepared can change everything.

As part of our Accessible Wellbeing Community Series, we're providing a free, hands-on first aid workshop for parents, caregivers, and domestic helpers, in joint partnership with Special Needs Network Hong Kong (SNNHK).

When: Saturday, November 28 | 9am–12pm
Location: YAMA Centre, 16/F FLK Tower, 157 Johnston Road, Wanchai

Fee: Free (First come, first served)

Language: English only

Instructor: Laura Pilling is a certified First Aid Instructor and experienced nurse with 15 years of healthcare expertise. Dedicated to empowering professionals, parents, educators, and children, Laura delivers tailored, scenario-based training that builds both critical, life-saving skills and the confidence to use them.

In this practical 3-hour workshop, you'll gain real-life skills and the calm confidence to act when it counts most. We'll also explore how to support children with sensory and other needs during an emergency, so every child gets the care that works for them. The focus is on everyday know-how rather than certification — so you can feel ready, not overwhelmed. Please note that CPR is not included in this session.

What we'll cover:

  • First aid kit essentials

  • Cuts, grazes, and wound care

  • Burns, broken bones, and head injuries

  • Shock and heat stroke

  • Choking, epilepsy, seizures

  • and more..

Spaces fill quickly, so save your spot early.
